One of the client's goals for this design was to create a solution for the steeply sloped side yards. Adding retaining walls and steps will make the side yards easier to plant and maintain. Their exact height and position should be finalized by an installer who has accurate elevation measurements. Due to the dramatic grading, the property has both dry and wet areas. The wettest area is planted with perennials and ornamental grasses that thrive in damp soils, and will help to moderate the soil’s moisture levels. The design includes an expanded, two-level deck and Modpool. The deck connecting the pool to the residence and the back yard provides an easy flow between indoor and outdoor spaces.
